![]() These include a Silver Sword for Cecil which lets him hurt undead-very important, given the cave is full of undead. In Tomra, the Mayor gives you dynamite to enter the cave, and lets you use the stores to upgrade your equipment. You're sent to Tomra to find a way into the cave.Įdward has Sing, which works as usual, and Aria, which gives the whole party Regen. The monster is revealed to be Milon, Fiend of Death, ruler of the Sealed Cave. ![]() Then they hear a monster stealing the crystal from the castle, and rush in to fight Calbrena. When they return to Giott, Edward is waiting. The Sylphs show you a vision of the Red Wings destroying Damcyan, and Kain killing Edward and taking the crystal. The abundance of monsters that use debilitating status effects (Toad, Stone, etc) when you need a grand assortment of healing items is particularly annoying. The treasure branch of the Sylph cave has a bunch of consumables and a Spanner for Cid. Returning to Giott, Cecil is told to confer with the Slyphs regarding the great evil in the world above. ![]() The town stores have equipment upgrades, and then Leviathan reveals that there has been a massacre in Mist Village, corresponding to the deaths of many Eidolens. Then the Magus Sisters guard the entrance to the town. Chests in the Feymarch contain a Tomakawk upgrade for Cid and the Darkness sword and armor for Cecil. Porom learns Float very early, making the Feymarch tolerable. (At this point, the stores in Tomra won't sell you anything without the mayor's permission.)Ĭid has a "Drink" ability instead of Peep, and it appears to.make him blind. Then he sends you to investigate the Feymarch. It can't fly over lava, so when you return to Giott, he brings in Cid (executed by the king for trying to steal an airship) and has him upgrade it. Beating Lugae on 8F (he's still clearly working for Rubicant) gets you the Falcon airship. The chests in Bab-il mostly have consumables, though there are monster-trapped chests with Leather equipment (which feels incongruous, somehow). You can buy Final Fantasy 4 Pixel Remaster via its official website for $17.99 or your regional equivalent. The Red Wings return from a training exercise without Cecil aboard. Unlike content removed from some of the other versions, this was not bonus stuff added in later versions, instead originating in the first original release of the game, and keeping it would presumably fit with the goal of creating an experience that matches the original release.Īlthough the lack of this Easter Egg is somewhat disappointing, there's still plenty of fun to be had with the revival of this classic JRPG. ![]() It's unclear why it was removed from the newest release of this title. Now, the Pixel Remaster has apparently been added to the list. Most of the many versions of Final Fantasy 4 included this Easter Egg with only two exceptions: the North American SNES version of the game and the Japan-exclusive Easy Type release (which was a port of the American release). It's a pretty cool Easter Egg, so it's somewhat strange to find that it's missing from the newest version of the game.
